International Museum Day

International Museum Day

The Museum celebrates International Museum Day each year on May 18, along with the world. The International Council of Museums (ICOM) puts out a theme each year that is relevant and encourages museums to think about how they operate and how they can improve their connections with society using the resources available to them. The Central Bank Museum uses the opportunity of International Museum Day to highlight some of these global concerns through a local lens. In addition, one of our objectives, irrespective of the particular years’ theme, is to showcase our collections in a way that is relatable while educating our visitors on the relevance of art and history to their everyday lives.
