Kwynn Johnson is a professionally certified Visual Artist. Her first exhibition was in a group show in 2002. Since then, she has exhibited in several local, regional, and international art exhibitions, and conferences. From 2003, Johnson has had nine solo art exhibitions in Trinidad, and has also exhibited in Haiti, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Grenada, New York, Florida, Texas, and London.
Johnson works with graphite, watercolour, and oils. Her work during a 20-year studio practice has probed ideas related to the natural environment, oil and gas exploration, coral reefs, disasters, race, violence, trauma, and bereavement.
Since 2007, her works have drawn from Caribbean Literature, and the concept of Place and Meaning specific to a Caribbean cultural geography. Her focus on The Republic of Haiti continues to inform a significant part of her thematic concerns about the Caribbean. Kywnn Johnson has been a selected artist at the International Ghetto Biennale in Port au Prince, Haiti [2011, 2013, & 2015, 2019].
